I remember the first year I rode up to Brooklyn from Philadelphia for the NYC Vintage Motorcycle Show. It was 2010 and I just started riding with all the “Chin on the Tank” guys from Philly. Some were older and experienced and others just plain fearless. I’d say I was on the unexperienced and fearless kick, riding up and back that day in the pouring down rain with a 3/4 helmet and no gear. My bike electrocuted me a few times as I tried to reconnect a spark plug wire.
It was all about the motorcycle show that first year, but now the annual ride-up has degraded into late night party in the caverns of the Works Engineering motorcycle shop. The motorcycle show just seems to be there in the background. These are the photos I took of that first year going up. The photo above, of Scott next to his Guzzi, was purchased by the Henry Ford Museum for a new motorcycle exhibit.
